I won’t buy a single red shirt, and I won’t let any eventual promotion change my feelings on it. But at the end of the day, as a Cardiff boy, I won’t stop supporting my beloved Cardiff City FC. Bluebirds or not, they represent my city and are still the same Cardiff City that they’ve always been…. managers and players come and go, kits and badges change and evolve, new stadiums are built….. but the fans will always be the same and there to cheer them on. The same football club as last season is still going strong.

Of course everyone has their breaking point, and I certainly have mine… but while CCFC are playing on, then I’ll still be there, no matter what the colour on the shirt is.

Take a step back and think. You almost had no club just a couple of years ago. Shoot, if Cardiff get to the prem and stay there they might have new owners in a few years and it could be all change again. It’s the fans that make the club anyway. This is the best team we have ever had! Imagine watching them in the prem next year. You’ve got to get past the rebranding and just consider it a phase, In years to come people may say “Remember when we played in Red!” and who owned the team then will be forgotten.

I consider myself very much a real Cardiff City supporter. This isn’t about supporting your club through thick and thin. I’ve supported Cardiff for 23 years and should the Bluebirds ever plummet into the lower divisions again or even end up in non-league I would support them just as much. The disgraceful rebranding with a change of club colour is on another and unprecedented level. We should all be protesting!
