I can’t decide if it’s a good thing or a bad that players now start abandoning the ship that failed to reach the port of the Premier League. On the one hand, it could be good to change things around, including the players in the squad, and let the new manager make build his own team. On the other hand, the players leaving now are players I would have liked to see get off to a fresh start with us under a new manager, not against us.

With the mourning period after Dave Jones departue over, I’m warming to the idea of seeing Martin O’Neill become the next manager of Cardiff City. After some research I’m a bit anxious though.

Dave Jones sacked and Swansea promoted to the Premier League as the first ever Welsh team. What a sad, sad day the 30th of May 2011 turned out to be for us Cardiff City supporters.

Reading 0 Cardiff City 0
Cardiff City 0 Reading 3
Just minutes after the final whistle against Reading at the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday the screen of my computer, on which I’d watched the match, went black, and the machine turned itself off. How fitting. (more…)

About one month ago I was in the Ninian Stand with my father and six year old son watching Cardiff outplaying and comfortably beating Portsmouth 3-0. City regained second spot and looked a good bet for automatic promotion, and there was a good atmosphere among the Cardiff supporters at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Writing this I know all too well that we squandered our chance to earn automatic promotion, and even had to see Swansea nick third place from us on goal difference. If Dave Jones and his men manage to dust themselves off, rise to the occasion and win the Play Offs as DJ so boldly states he believes we will, then I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Cardiff City 4 Derby County 1
This great win was made even better by Swansea’s surprise defeat at Preston. The seven letter Cities of Norwich City, Cardiff City and Swansea City are still the main contenders for second spot going into the last seven games.

It’s reassuring to read that Cardiff’s Malaysian investors are in for the long run, and it’s good to see Vincent Tan feature on Forbes’ list of the world’s billionaires.
What surprised me though was to learn from Forbes profile on Vincent Tan that he’s got no fewer than 11 children, which means the man has another eleven besides Cardiff’s to handle!

After the international break it’s good to get back to Championship action tomorrow, but it’s an even more weakened team that enters the Cardiff City Stadium to play Derby than the team that entered the Den against Millwall two weeks ago.

Swansea added new meaning to the term “total football” on Saturday when they managed to fall behind to an incredible Ashley Williams own goal after seven minutes in their away game against Derby.
